A Conversation With History is the new name for the collaborative work which will be the centrepiece of our Not The Transporter Bridge Exhibition. Made up of 18 canvasses, each by a different group member, it depicts architectural details from around the Teesside area.

aim4art is a voluntary community arts group, formed in 2009, dedicated to pushing the boundaries of painting and drawing in the Tees Valley. We aim to paint, aim to draw, aim to create art. We meet every Tuesday (10am-4pm) at The Barn, overlooking Hemlington Lake, Middlesbrough, TS8 9DA. We have no regular tutor, but support each other and organise a programme of visits and workshops. Edinburgh Trip
In February the group had a trip to Edinburgh to see the British Art Show and visit galleries. It was a really worthwhile day and everyone seems to have enjoyed themselves. Here's Julia's reminder of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery - often the buildings are as interesting as the paintings:

Bookbinding Workshop
Sorry, I forgot to include this in the blog earlier.
In November 2015, Julie Macbean gave us a really interesting workshop introducing us to bookbinding using Japanese Stab binding.
The picture shows an example, featuring the interesting pattern of stitching.
We're hoping to put on further workshops by Julie on bookbinding and printing later in 2016.

aim4art Display at MIMA
The invitation to display work at MIMA as part of their ground-breaking 'Localism' exhibition has been one of our greatest highlights to date. It feels really good to be part of this new departure for MIMA, whose new management deserve every credit for promoting local artists past and present.
Here are some more images from the exhibition:

New Album For Les
After putting our Portfolio on google photos, I would like to set up albums for individual members, which can be easily added to at any time. Pictures can be sent to me or you can upload them yourselves - I'll put together some instructions for doing this. In the meantime, Have a look at Les Southerton's new album by following the link below.
