I keep badgering people to send me images to put on the website, so it's nice to see a couple of new ones from Gill Place. Thanks for sending them Gill, I love the colours in these, especially the still life.

Discover Middlesbrough Festival
I don't know how many people are aware of the 'Discover Middlesbrough Festival', which takes place in the last couple of weeks of October. It includes quite a lot of art related events including new William Tillier exhibitions at MIMA and the Platform A Gallery, together with a talk on Fri 25th. The Dorman Museum is having a 'Pencil and Paper' Exhibition running until Jan 26th. Dundas House hosts the Navigator North Spen Studios on Saturday 19th and there are more open studios and exhibitions at Gilkes Street Artists and Platform Arts on Sat 26th.
Booklets about the festival are available at the Town hall and libraries or you can download one from http://www.middlesbrough.gov.uk/static/ebooks/Dm/

Runswick Bay
In September the group hired the Fisherman's Institute at Runswick Bay for two intensive painting days, which proved to be enjoyable and productive for those who attended, especially as the weather was beautiful.. Hopoefully, more information and pictures will follow.

Winfield
It was with great sadness that we heard of the passing of Winfield Stewart. Gently humorous, unflappable, practical and unfailingly supportive, Winfield has been with us from the beginning and will be sorely missed by all of us.

Website Update Not (again)
As I'm away for a while, I won't be able to keep the website up-to-date. However, we can still add posts to the blog.
Last week I visited the Coast Gallery at Cloughton just before you reach Scarborough. They had a really nice exhibition of John Egerton pots, some interesting felt pebbles by an artist whose name escapes me, plus paintings by a range of artists including P.Hicks. They don't appear to have a website but you can find them at www.Facebook.com/CoastGallery

Runswick Bay
Another lovely day thanks to Kate. The weather was not too bad and I did manage quite a few sketches. I will really need to focus when we have our two days in September.
Spirit of Place Exhibition at Preston Park should be in place the week beginning July 8th.
Thanks again Kate for your hospitality.
Runswick Bay Painting Day News
Another enjoyable day and the rain held off - what a nice place to paint, but how complex! Thank you, Kate, for your hospitality.
