Framing The Tees

On March 15th we gathered at the Tees Barrage for a planning meeting about our future Tees Project. The idea was to firm up some proposals for workshops, exhibitions and visits for inclusion in our Arts Council bid. Any resemblance to this picture by new membe, John Barchan, is purely coincidental.


Teesmouth Field Centre

This was an exploratory visit in preparation for new project on the River Tees. Of course, the landscape is not dissimilar to Saltholme, but there is a closer view of industry and the prospect of some different views across the mouth of the Tees. We are hoping to return for a sketching and painting expedition later in the year.


Laing Gallery and Biscuit Factory Visit

A good day out mainly  to see the 'Out Of Chaos'Exhibition at the Laing in Newcastle, featuring 20th century Jewish artist such as David Bomberg, Marc Chagal and Frank Auerbach, whose painting of Mornington Crescent is shown below:
